More acid free choice for specialist framing

Framers with a conservation requirement, who are interested in unusual mount options can now offer their customers two of our most striking Colourmount ranges with acid free core and backing.
Our new metallic range was launched last year in neutral pH form to wide acclaim and has now been extended to include the same four colours with acid free core and backing.

Available in Bright Gold, Old Gold, Bright Silver and the very popular Copper, our metallic boards are the same size as standard Colourmount board (815 x 1125mm) but 1.5mm thick.  The four metallic colours have been used very successfully with contemporary subjects, including oriental art, and are excellent as part of a double mount.
The Colourmount woodgrain range was the first available in the framing market and has quickly become one of our best sellers. The four boards, now available with acid free core and backing, have a circular grain and make a striking mount, particularly for sporting prints. Colourmount woodgrain board is also ideal for box mounts, as featured in a previous issue of In The Frame.
Our picture shows the superb deep mount made from our mid brown woodgrain board by our friendly expert, Pete Bingham (back with his hot tips elsewhere in this issue).
For corner swatches of the two new acid free ranges, complete with all the relevant details and usage information on the reverse, please contact Andrew Branton on the Colourmount helpline, 01625 576505.

Box Clever

Top manufacturers of crystal, ceramics and silverware naturally turn to Slater Harrison to design and create suitably luxurious finishes for their rigid boxes and cartons.
High quality products must of course be presented in a style that befits their status.  And so it follows that the package you will get from Slater Harrison will fit the bill - no matter how high the level of effort required.
We keep our specialist merchants stocked with a standard range of coated products ready for supply to box makers, but are also able to tailor make coverings to customers’ specifications. This ability to create to customer demand extends beyond boxes and cartons of course, since quality finishes such as leatherette can also be applied to other items such as files and folders for offices.
The actual process that creates leatherette paper or board begins with the selection of a colour to apply to the base paper.  Once this stage has been completed, the rolls of paper are sent off for embossing.
Many patterns are available, ranging from conventional flecks to more extravagant and ornate water silk styles.  The embossed paper is then supplied to merchants either in rolls or sheets; alternatively it can be laminated to base boards for rigid box making.
When the leatherette papers and boards have been built up in this way, names and logos can be foil blocked for a truly luxurious finish - as you will see the next time you shop in style!

Firefly is significant addition

A significant addition to our product range as a result of the strategic alliance with our neighbours, Tullis Russell Coatings, is the range of fluorescent papers and boards marketed under the brand name Firefly.
This range of paper, pulp board and ticket board is available in six brilliant colours and, like our own Day-Glo range, is ideal for point of sale and promotional use.
Both the Firefly and Day-Glo ranges of coated paper and board are now available from Slater Harrison, giving our customers a choice of the best names in fluorescents.
In line with our own policy of offering a bespoke service on all our products, we will welcome enquiries for other colours of Firefly, for example, Cerise, Dark Green and Amber as well as non-standard sizes.
