Customers, suppliers and local dignitaries all helped Bollington-based Slater Harrison celebrate its 75th anniversary this June. At two open days held on the 16 and 17 June, attendees were shown the full range of Slater Harrison products available and were given an insight into just how far the company has progressed over the last 75years.

Presenting on both days, Mike Braddock, Managing Director of Slater Harrison, explained the history of the business and the markets it serves. “Since our founding in 1929, Slater Harrison has strived to find new and innovative ways to meet the needs of the diverse range of markets we supply,” says Mike.

“We have formed strategic alliances, made key acquisitions and have introduced pioneering products, all of which have placed us in the strong market position that we hold today. Our latest addition, Centura Pearl®, is proving to be as successful as one of our older and more established products, Colourmount®.

“Key markets for us include education, picture framing, point of sale, decorative packaging, art and craft, furniture and wallpaper. We are continually looking for new routes to market within each of these sectors, and our multi-skilled team of staff work closely with our customers and suppliers to find the latest and most inventive approaches,” Mike concludes.

Joining in the celebrations were, the Mayor of Bollington, Councillor Shirley Sockett, on the 16 June, and the Worshipful the Mayor of the Borough of Macclesfield, Councillor Joan Barnes, on the 17 June. Both were delighted to see the contribution Slater Harrison has made to the local community over the years, and its continuous investment in the mill site.

Local residents were also given a mill tour on Friday 18 June, where they had the opportunity to meet Sir Nicholas Winterton MP for Macclesfield, who attended to help commemorate Slater Harrison’s landmark anniversary.
