Mike Braddock, Managing Director of local company Slater Harrison & Co Ltd, has been elected Master of the Fine Art Trade Guild, the art and picture framing industry’s information, promotion and development body.

Although Bollington-based Slater Harrison is a major supplier to the art and framing industry, this is the first time that a non-framer has been elected to this position and is testament to the experience and innovation that Mike has brought to the industry during the last twenty years.

The Fine Art Trade Guild works with picture framers, galleries and other companies involved in the art and framing market, to set standards within the industry and to promote the industry to the general public. Local framers can become Guild Commended Framers by taking an examination, for example, which reassures their customers that the picture framing will meet the Guild standard.

In his position as Master, Mike Braddock will work closely with Guild staff and members to give even better value for money to the Guild’s supporters. He is excited about the prospect of influencing the future of the Fine Art Trade Guild and says, “Promoting, informing and developing the picture industry are the Guild’s principle activities and I will make myself available to help wherever and whenever possible.”
