New Venture Develops Coatings for Synthetic Substrates
Slater Harrison & Co Limited and Tullis Russell Coaters Limited,
two of the biggest names in coating technology, have joined forces to
create a new company specialising in the coating of synthetic substrates.
JV Synthetic Coaters Ltd was formed in direct response to an increase
in customer demand for new, exciting alternatives for printing. A range
of coatings has been developed to add colour or give additional properties
to synthetic substrates. This range includes properties such as lithographic,
screen and inkjet print acceptance or solvent resistance. The substrates
coated by JV Synthetic Coaters range from polypropylene to polyethylene,
PVC to polyester and non-woven formats such as Tyvek®. Each product
can also easily be converted into self-adhesive. Customers requiring the
development of a bespoke coating to achieve specific objectives will benefit
from the vast technical experience of both Tullis Russell and Slater Harrison.
The new products from JV Synthetic Coaters allow the use of coated synthetic
substrates for new applications that were previously impractical and the
in-house finishing enables rolls to be slit or sheeted as required. For
