Slater Harrison was founded 76 years ago in 1929 and has been on the same site - Lowerhouse Mills, Bollington, Cheshire, England, since 1936. We employ 120 people, and our current turnover is in excess of £14m.

Our business is to coat paper and plastic substrates with aqueous coatings, and laminate paper to board to produce 2, 3 or 4 ply laminates up to 3mm thick. Our most famous products are Centura Pearl Pearlescent paper, Day-Glo® fluorescent paper and board, and COLOURMOUNT boards for the Picture Framing market. Our success is attributable to our willingness to experiment and tailor-make product to customer specifications.

Since introducing Centura Pearl® in 2000, the range of colours with a pearlescent finish has been greeted with excitement by a varied selection of markets worldwide. The unique stock has proved to be very popular in both paper & card for greeting cards & envelopes, gift-wrap and tags.

We have also acquired two other companies, both with skills and products that complement our existing product range. Webmaster of Rochdale, is a speciality self adhesive label manufacturer, whilst Cavalier Tapes and Conversions is a supplier of quality single and double sided tapes for both specialist and bespoke applications. In combining the skills of these organisations we are looking forward to developing innovative products for both existing and new markets.

We have a Continuous Improvement programme with on-going investments in plant and machinery, which has recently resulted in a joint venture with Tullis Russell Coaters Limited, to coat a variety of synthetic stocks using one of our newest machines.
