Standard Mountboard

What is standard Mountboard ? Made up of three layers- surface paper, woodpulp core and chemically purified backing paper, standard mountboards, are produced to a neutral pH specification.
What are the main features of the Colourmount standard range ? Surface paper and core buffered with calcium carbonate and produced to a neutral pH specification - resist deterioration over time.

Backing paper is chemically treated. (See 300 Series for chemically treated white core).

Woodpulp core manufactured using virgin fibres - provides clean and smooth bevels.

Wide selection of colours and textures available - caters for any framers mounting requirements.

When do I use standard neutral pH Colourmount ? Standard Colourmount is ideal for posters, prints, photographs, textiles and virtually any subject that does not need to be framed using conservation boards.

White Conservation Quality Core and Backing
300 Series
What is chemically treated core and backing ? The core and backing are made from chemically purified woodpulp from which all potentially harmful substances have been extracted.
The cover paper is neutral pH (see standard mountboard)
What are the main features of the 300 series ? Pure white chemically treated core and backing - gives artwork a high degree of protection against acidic contamination.

1500 Micron thickness - provides extra deep pure white bevels that stay white.

backing ?
To enhance the appearance of any subject giving you the confidence that the finished item is protected against acidic contamination and providing that truly professional finish.

Black Core Mountboard
400 Series
What is black core mountboard ? Mountboard with a striking chemically purified black core & backing from which all potentially harmful substances have been extracted.
What are the main features of the 400 series ? Black core and backing - creates an added 3 dimensional look only a black center can impart - also allows for beautiful and accurate V-Grooves.

Chemically treated core and backing - gives artwork a high degree of protection against acidic contamination.

When do I use black core mountboard ? When a black bevel is required to enhance your particular subject, with all the benefits of chemically treated core and backing.

Conservation Mountboard
600 Series
What is conservation mountboard ? Chemically purified woodpulp from which all potentially harmfull substances have been extracted. This type of board is always alkaline buffered.
What are the main features of the 600 series ? Buffered with calcium carbonate - protects against acidic elements in the environment - alkaline pH

Solid colour - when bevelled the colour remains consistent throughout.

Thicker than standard mountboard - enhances the solid colour bevel.

100% conservation quality - can be used alongside virtually any work of art.

Fade and bleed resistance - pigmented paper that has excellent fade resistant properties.

Barrier Board - used in conjunction with the 600 series, this product enables you to provide a total conservation framing service.

When do I use
600 series ?
Anything of financial or sentimental value can be framed using 600 series conservation quality.

200 Series
What is Museum Board ? The total product is made from a non acidic 100% cotton fibre.
What are the main
features of the 200 series ?
Solid colour - when bevelled the colour remains consistent throughout.

Chemically Purified - best protection available, bleed, scuff and fade resistant - ease of use for all framers.

When do I use Museum board 100% cotton ? Used by museums and the discerning framer for the preservation of original artwork, fine prints and precious documents.

What is Ink Jet Artboard? Mountboard with an ink jet receptive surface, eliminating the need to dry mount by printing directly on to the mountboard.
