A warm welcome to Slater Harrison’s new apprentice

We are always delighted to welcome a new person taking their first steps towards a career with us. A few weeks ago, we welcomed Dan Payne, our new Engineering Apprentice. We have had a chat with Dan to see how he has been finding things so far.

What do you do at Slater Harrison?
I work with the engineering team training to be a multiskilled engineer, learning both mechanical and electrical roles. This includes attending to breakdowns and some preventative maintenance. Recently we have been installing new machinery and moving other machines.

What did you do before joining Slater Harrison?
Before coming to Slater Harrison I was at school in Macclesfield doing my GCSE’s before I decided that I wanted to do an apprenticeship in engineering.

What do you enjoy about working at Slater Harrison?
The people who work here are really nice, making it a good environment to work in. Every day is different and challenging.

What do you like to do in your spare time?
I enjoy playing football, which I do most days. I’m also a season ticket holder for Manchester City and go to all home games and many away games.

Dan has made a great start with us here at Slater Harrison and we look forward to seeing how his journey develops.
